KINZER LETTERS FROM THE SAMUEL SLAYMAKER II COLLECTION

The eleven letters on the following pages are from a collection of letters known as the Samuel Slaymaker II, White Chimneys Collection and are filed in the Lancaster County Historical Socity, Lancaster, PA.  Copies of the letters were acquired in 2006 by Larry Kinzer who hired a genealogy research person in Lancaster, PA to copy them.  The copies of the letters were very difficult to read because of age-related condition of the original letters and quality of the photo copies.  Larry, taking care to preserve the original spellings and use of grammar,  spent many hours transcribing them with the aid of a magnifying glass.  Blank spaces within the letters represent words that could not be read in the copies of the original letters.

Some of the family members in the letters are:

John & Ann Kinzer – wrote most of the letters.

John:  Son of Henry & Elizabeth Kinzer.

Ann:   Wife of John Kinzer & daughter of John & Elizabeth White Slaymaker.

Alexander & Mary Ann Buffington:

Alexander:  Son of Thomas & Elizabeth Slaymaker Buffington

Mary Ann: Daughter of John & Ann Kinzer.

Note:  Mary & Alexander were cousins

Jasper Kinzer
