These lines are written at the top of the first page of the letter. Wesley L. Kinser (2646)2006 Ranger Drive Fort Worth, Texas 76116 (???) 244-54?? January 16, 1978 Dear Mamie (Mildred Selena Kinser Lusk) You mentioned E. R.(7300) & Gertrude Kinser(803). I used to visit them them and Clyde Kinser(2) who moved to North Carolina (now deceased). I used to ride around the area some. We generally went to Gordon Kinser's(9335). I remember one time when there was talk about the Kinsers {Sussanah Mesimer(17) great grandmother wife of John Kinser, Sr.(16) Her ancestors two generations before her ????nd land grants there.} owning interest in some land in New York. I went to Greenville, Tenn. to see what it was all about. As I said I had not been to Tennessee much during the {1945} war and have lost out in some of the Kinser history. I went to see Hubert Kinser (10282?) in Sweetwater when I was in Athens. He was not at home but I did talk to him over the phone. I was in Florida some months ago and visited with Ralph Kinser(?). He has since passed away. He has a brother in Atlanta (Marietta) Gilford(?) and there is another brother, Ben(?). They were the children of ?ani??. Landon(?) was the son of my uncle (John) Miller(265) who also had daughters, Dura(9179) that married a Peck(9320) and Rachael(9083) who married an Anderson(9328) and lived in Knoxville. Peck lived in Athens and they have a daughter Ruth(9322) still living in Athens and a son who is postmaster in Charleston, Tenn. John was a representative in the Tennessee Legislature. He later moved to Florida and has now passed away but has a son John, Jr.(?) who in in the newspaper business, I understand. {I have been corrected he is within our line.} There are many Kinsers around here. It seems that at the end of the war between the states twenty wagons left Tenn. And came to Texas. There are also some that left Tenn. And went to Calif, that have children that have come to Texas from Calif. I will now try to give you part of the Kinsers that I am a direct line of. My
brother Stuart(783) started setting some information and I have several
letters that were written to him. The general information I have goes like this. The first Kinsers ___________and some of them went back to Germany and after several years ___ brothers came to Virginia. From there they came to Greene county, Tenn. And from there John(16) {our ancestor} and Jacob(?) {uncle and aunt Kinser Uncle Jakes father}(?)came to Monroe County, George ____ in Greene and the other one {James Kinser}(?)moved to Meigs.I have the will of Jacob Kinser made in 1816 at which time he has several
married children. I also have the will of Peter Kinser who had 13 children. My
great grandmother was born Feb. 24, 1793. My great grandfather(613) was
born Jan 10, 1819 and my father Wesley(266) was born July 31, 1860. I was
born May 9, 1908. |
