Kinsers in Montgomery County, Virginia

Selected passages from a paper by H. L. Price, May 1934.
"The history of the Montgomery branch of this family begins with Michael Kinser, Sr., who bought land in 1754. The Montgomery family tradition has it that he had three brothers. One settled in Pennsylvania, one in New Jersey and one in Rhode Island.
His land fell to Michael Kinser, Jr.,(2641) who is thought to be the only Kinser to leave descendents in this Virginia County." Michael Kinser, Jr. was born in 1762 and died in 1826. He served in the Revolutionary War at a very young age and was wounded in the hand." (he was a water boy). See Kinzer Family Records Mrs. Paul Linkous (f) Information here given has been obtained from abstract of Augusta records; L. P. Preston's ANNALS OF S. W. VA; old St. Peters Lutheran Church records, and interviews and correspondence with various members of the Kinzer family. H. L. Price May 1934.
I must assume that there has been a house on this property since post 1754. I was told by the current owner during my visit that the house was 1780s. The house was "added to" from the rear some years later, called the kitchen addition. Evidence of two other kitchens have been found. The kitchen addition is a very large story and a half tee. Could that have been built in 1802? Could the assumed original house have been added on to in 1802 and the tee built later? History and genealogy produces more questions.
PAPER OF GEORGE KODITEK, JR., HISTORIC PRESERVATION 1 , 14 MAR 1981 VTech
"...prominent 18th Century, four room brick house....built for Michael Kinser(2641) in the late 1700s.....in the year 1754 George Michael Kinser bought two hundred acres...on Tom's Creek.
.Mr. French Pack...has obtained a large amount of family documents, heirlooms, and other data that cannot be duplicated."

Don't get me wrong the dates are no big deal to me. The real deal is standing there touching the bricks in the chill of a Southwest Virginia morning and listening to the breeze.
