Haiti
On 14 January 1995 UN officials
announced the nomination of Major General Joseph W. Kinzer, Deputy
Commanding General, U.S. Fifth Army, to command UNMIH forces. UN Security
Council anticipates passing a resolution that Haiti has attained a "stable
and secure environment" to begin the sixty-day process of turning the
operation over from the MNF to the UNMIH forces.
